Would you like a weighted blanket made from your favorite quilt top?

We are happy to use fabrics that you send and we can also make weighted blankets out of a quilt top you supply. Please contact us to discuss either of those options.
All About Different Types Of Fabrics
100% Cotton comes in thousands of patterns and colors, is smooth to the touch and is the "coolest" fabric we can use for a blanket. Many individuals , especially on the Autism Spectrum, prefer 100% cotton used on both sides of their blanket if they tend to get warm when sleeping. Remember when using a weighted blanket, another blanket can always be added for warmth if needed.
100% Cotton Flannel has many of the same characteristics of cotton but has a brushed feel much like flannel sheets.
Cotton/Poly Blend. We do not normally recommend a cotton/poly blend fabric because it often has a stiff and sometimes scratchy feel to it. Although it is available for our clients who request it.
Fleece is a polyester and does not breathe as a cotton does making it a warmer fabric. It has a soft medium thick texture that many people like. A cotton on one side and fleece on the other makes for a very nice blanket if a little warmth is desired. Using fleece on both sides makes a very warm blanket and may be appropriate for those who are normally very cold year round.
Combed Cotton Fleece is an "extra care" or "high maintenance" fabric and while it is available for weighted blankets we do not recommend it's use. It can be washed in cold water only and lined dried only. It can not be dried in the dryer without harming the fabric. It is a much thinner fabric than regular fleece and is breathable. It has a soft short pile and will not add as much warmth as normal fleece will.
Combed cotton fleece is available in a very limited number of solid colors, we have them pictured below.
